§ II   About this stock

Discontinued JCC Tosca Britespot — commercial metal-halide track fitting, supplied empty.

The JCC JC88021 is a Tosca (Britespot) metal-halide track fitting — a substantial commercial track luminaire built for the high-output, high-quality light that retail, showroom and gallery interiors traditionally relied on before LED. Metal-halide fittings of this class deliver bright, colour-accurate accent light with excellent rendering, which is why they were specified for fashion, jewellery, automotive display and premium hospitality. This holding covers both the white (28 units) and silver (57 units) bodies, and is genuinely heavy-duty hardware at roughly 2.3 kg per fitting. It is discontinued, ex-distribution surplus: the Tosca Britespot is off JCC’s current list, so these 85 units are a finite closeout rather than a re-orderable line.

The stock is genuine new-old-stock (NOS) — 85 unused units carried over from JCC distribution and photographed against their box labels for the buyer pack. Each fitting measures roughly 52.5 × 36 × 20 cm, a large-format luminaire rather than a compact spot. Critically, the JC88021 is supplied as an empty fitting — the metal-halide lamp is not included. That keeps the fitting entirely clear of lamp bans and Ecodesign restrictions, which act on lamps rather than housings: the luminaire itself is freely resellable, and the buyer supplies the lamp best suited to the application.

Because the fitting is supplied empty, it is also a strong candidate for LED conversion. Metal-halide track heads of this size are increasingly re-lamped or re-cored with high-output LED modules or LED replacement lamps, letting an operator keep a proven, well-built housing while dropping running cost and eliminating the ballast maintenance that ageing HID gear demands. A reseller can therefore position the JC88021 either as a genuine metal-halide fitting for operators who still run HID track, or as a rugged commercial chassis for an LED retrofit — two distinct markets from one line.

For the trade, a heavy, well-finished commercial track luminaire in unused condition at clearance economics is a high-value line rather than throwaway clearance. The white-and-silver split covers the common commercial ceiling finishes, and at 85 units the holding is deep enough to matter to a single wholesaler, exporter or lighting contractor. As a discontinued item it also carries a specification-matching benefit for sites still running Tosca track, where a matched replacement head is otherwise hard to source.

Commercially, the JC88021 is offered as UK surplus / liquidation stock for trade and resale only. It is not sold as a stand-alone line: it forms part of Austral Prime's JCC commercial lighting whole-lot bulk package — roughly 8,585 units across fittings, infrastructure and architectural hardware, supplied as a single lot for GBP 8,500 (ex-VAT) ex-warehouse Leicester. The whole-lot structure lets one buyer take the entire discontinued JCC range at clearance economics and then place the individual lines — metal-halide track heads, downlights, spotlights, track — into their own retail, maintenance, refurbishment or export channels at trade margin. UK supply is subject to VAT at the standard rate (reclaimable by VAT-registered buyers); exports removed from the UK may be zero-rated on valid evidence.

The buyers who move stock like this are electrical wholesalers and factors, lighting contractors and shopfitters, JCC/Tosca-system maintenance specialists, HID-to-LED retrofit firms, pallet and job-lot liquidation traders, and export resellers shipping into markets where metal-halide track lighting remains in service. A rugged, empty-supplied commercial track luminaire lists well against searches such as ‘metal halide track fitting’, ‘JCC Tosca Britespot’ or ‘commercial track spotlight housing’, and the retrofit optionality widens the buyer pool.

It is worth being clear about where the value sits in a fitting this size. A 2.3 kg cast commercial luminaire is expensive to tool and make, so even as surplus it carries far more intrinsic worth than a lightweight domestic spot — and buying 85 of them as clearance stock is a genuinely different proposition from clearing a pallet of throwaway fittings. Operators who still run metal-halide display track will pay for a matched spare rather than re-wire a whole run, and retrofit firms will pay for a rugged, well-finished body to re-core with LED. Either way the housing is the asset. The white-and-silver split covers the common commercial ceilings, and the depth of the silver holding in particular suits a single exporter or contractor order. For a reseller, a heavy, hard-to-improvise commercial luminaire is the kind of line that rewards patience with margin rather than needing a fire-sale to move.
